Okeene is fairly familiar to me. We used to make frequent trips here to visit my Grandparents. My Mother was born on a farm south of town.

She attended Elementary School school here in a one room schoolhouse. Grandfather was on the School Board.

This is the present day High School. (yes that's part of the car again, lots of traffic in Okeene, OK. you know)
Their mascot is a whippet. (whippet, whippet good. Sorry, there was a bitter rivalry between the Okeene whippets and the Canton Tigers when I was in school.) They have a whippet named JoJo that runs around the football field when they score.
My Grandparents lived here before moving to town. You can't see much, it's so overgrown. No one has lived there for years and I didn't bring my boots along. Okeene is rattlesnake country. They have a big hunt every year. I was working there this year and I kept waiting for PETA to show up, but I never saw them.

They lived here when I was little. Yes, there's my mirror again. Traffic! That was long ago too. The house was in much better shape then. My mother rented it out when I was a teen and she took good care of it until she sold it to my Uncle. And that was also long ago.
AND tomorrow is Friday!
