"This building was constructed in 1900 by the Anheuser Busch Brewing Association of St. Louis, Missouri. In 1922, the building was restored similar to its original appearance by Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, Inc."

I did not know that.
Actually I don't think Pioneer was in business 1922. I will have to do some research on that in my spare time.(between midnight and 5 a.m.)
This is how it looked last August courtesy of Fuzzzzy on Flickr. Fuzzzzy has some great shots of the flooding that took place August 19th. http://www.flickr.com/photos/70412979@N00/1194143075/

I saw this guy in Kingfisher.

He's a new monument they've erected honoring Jesse Chisholm. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Chisholm
Rather interesting placement of him too.
Yes that's my side mirror, I was too lazy to park and get out of the car the traffic was too heavy for me to stop for a picture. Yes I realize that we are talking about Kingfisher, Oklahoma and you should realize that I'm not very accomplished in the skills of negotiating traffic. All right yes, I realize there is no traffic in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. I was pressed for time. I am always pressed for time. That's just the kind of gal I am. Okay? Thank you.
Why did they put him up so high? It's likely that they didn't want just anyone to ride his horse with him. Any old lazy person could get on that horse if it was at sitting at ground level. This looks like it may be an invitation for some rowdy industrious person to climb up there and seat themselves behind old Jesse for a midnight ride. Or possibly they were worried that someone might want to share his peace pipe. Hopefully not. But I'm just sayin....
P.S
I'm having a terrible time learning how to embed a link in blogger. You'll just have to be patient with me. Or not. For the time being though, you will have to copy and paste in your browsers address window. Thank you.
