Lotsa nuthin'

A new week and so far it has been busy.

Sunday I met Mother, my sister, my sister-in-law and one of my nephews in Watonga for lunch. Then we went to see the current play at the Liberty Theatre. It was a good show, we all enjoyed it.

Monday morning I worked in Watonga...until they sent me to Okeene. That drastically changed my plans because I had to be back in Watonga by 5:30 pm to work in the box office at the Theatre. I didn't think it would be right to drive the company car back to Watonga, so I skipped lunch, left early, and drove the 40 some miles home to get my personal car. Then I left for Watonga, another 25 miles. It kinda looks like I'm leaving a big footprint on this planet even though I try not to. It's just hard when you live out in the boondocks.

Working the box office is usually fun, except it was the last night of the play and all the high school English students showed up to get extra credit. And they all paid one at a time. At our little bitty box office window. Suffice it to say, the play started late. They may never ask me to work box office again. (let's hope)

It's Tuesday and I'm working in Canton and is everyone who lives in has a telephone a racist? Ugly things are being said and it makes me very uncomfortable. I'm in the office alone this afternoon and thankfully it's been quiet most of the time. One of the girls went to the optometrist this afternoon to have her eyes dilated. She is having laser surgery tomorrow.

The other girl in this office is a former classmate. Last Saturday night Canton had their annual lighted Christmas parade. My sister and Mom sat in their car to watch it because the weather didn't cooperate this year. They said there were four floats, 2 horses and one Shriner. (I thought they traveled in pairs) Our company usually participates in the community parades all over our service area. They send a truck and Partner. It just so happens that our little high school football team made it to the playoffs this year and the entire town came out to send them off on Friday afternoon. The girls in the Canton office decided that since they had the Partner suit, one of them may as well put it on and wish the boys luck. Well, it was pretty windy on Friday and the Partner suit makes whoever is wearing it about 7 feet tall. The wind caught her and toppled her over onto her back and her head hit hard. She still has a headache and her neck is swollen. She's sporting a big neck brace. If she doesn't feel better tomorrow, I'll insist that she goes back to see the doc.

Tomorrow I'm opening the office all by myself. Just like a big girl. I need to get a life.
